Time Passes
Between blinks a month passes without a single thought. I remember it being February and working on back to back features, time passing slower and slower each day as the responsibilities accumulated. Now with all this free time between editing and writing, between pots of coffee and glasses of wine; I find I have slipped into a realm of inconsequential meandering.
I spent all day yesterday walking around outside with no particular goal in mind, no place to stop and rest. With no money to spend a destination would have been frivolous. I have decided to attend Cine Gear Expo 2012 in hopes that I will find some piece of technology, or learn some new technique that will inspire me.
I have already begun developing two ideas. One is short about the last moments in a man’s struggle to escape hell, the other is a comedy the likes of Pygmalion or Prince and the Pauper. I like the completely different tones these projects have to them, allowing me the ability to separate them without bleeding anything over and convoluting the message each one has. They also require different strengths of mine, one is purely writing, script formatting and pacing while maintaining a comedic tone. The other, is creature design, prop design, set design, contemplating the various people I want to partake in the project and how I would begin physically creating the costumes and props that I want to see. It is nice because I can see something in my head and put it on paper in a variety of ways.
I can’t believe it is almost June.
